Lead Pharmacist
Naznee is a pharmacist by profession. She obtained her BPharm at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2011. She completed her internship at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg in 2012 and her community service at Zeerust/Lehurutshe hospital complex in the North West province in 2013. She has experience in both Hospital and Research pharmacy work. She worked at Zeerust/Lehurutshe hospital complex until 31 Aug 2017 as a hospital pharmacist. She started as a rotating Research Pharmacist in September 2017 working across two sites at Wits RHI: Research Centre and Ward 21 CRS.
She was the Pharmacist of Record as of 21 Dec 2018 at the Wits RHI Ward 21 CRS Until 31 August 2020. She then located across research sites and gained experience in vaccine trials at the RHRU/VIDA research site. She also played an active role in the preparation of COVID vaccines in the Sisonke trial.
She is currently the lead pharmacist at the Wits RHI Research centre site. She also comes with experience in HIV-prevention trials as she has worked across studies that involve HIV-prevention, including DAIDS-sponsored clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies.
She is currently a 3rd year student, pursuing her MPH at the University of Western Cape.
