Magee-Womens Research Institute (MATRIX Prime)

Affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) is the largest independent U.S. research institute focused solely on women’s health research and reproductive biology.

As the primary recipient of the USAID award, MWRI serves as the base of operations (Prime) for the MATRIX Collaborative, and in this role, is the lead administrator for the cooperative agreement with responsibility for coordination of sub-awards to other Collaborative members, fiscal management, reporting and compliance, contractual communications with USAID, and for overall synchronization of the MATRIX Collaborative’s efforts.
