MATRIX is program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) that aims to expedite the research and development of HIV prevention products for women – including products designed to protect against both HIV and unplanned pregnancy – that in addition to being safe and effective, will be acceptable, affordable, scalable and deliverable in the settings where they are needed most. Findings of MATRIX-funded research and development activities are shared with the scientific community and the public to inform and support the development of new HIV prevention products and dual-purpose products that combine HIV prevention and contraception.

MATRIX investigators are encouraged to develop and report findings at scientific and medical meetings and peer-reviewed journals.
