Phase 1-3 clinical trials; acceptability and adherence research
Friedland leads both clinical and behavioral research, primarily focused on HIV prevention. She has served as PI for several domestic and international clinical trials of Council products in development. Her behavioral research focuses primarily on aspects of product development, including acceptability, adherence, and informed consent. Friedland is trained in quantitative and qualitative research methods and current leads two studies evaluating the dual prevention pill in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Friedland received her MPH in Community Health Education from Hunter College, City University of New York and her BA from Douglass College, Rutgers University.
