Kudzai Hlahla
Kudzai Hlahla is the Pharmacist of Record for the Spilhaus CRS in Harare Zimbabwe. She holds a Master’s in Public Health and Post Graduate Diploma in HIV management. She has ten years of experience conducting NIAID-sponsored clinical trials across various networks. She has been involved in phase II-IV clinical trials, where she has worked with a wide range of HIV prevention interventions including oral PrEP, the dapivirine vaginal ring, and long-acting cabotegravir injection. Her research interests include the epidemiology of infectious diseases including HIV in women and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Sub-Saharan Africa and the integration of safe and effective biomedical tools with socio-behavioral interventions in this population. She is also interested in emerging public health concerns on the continent and as such has taken an interest in the epidemiology of harmful alcohol and substance use among young people in Africa and its impact on HIV transmission. Kudzai has quantitative research experience and is the first author of several abstracts and posters.
