Tsungai Mhembere
Research Pharmacist
Tsungai is a Research Pharmacist with University of Zimbabwe Clinical Research Centre and is currently involved in international health research related to HIV prevention, treatment, and related comorbidities. She has contributed to successful implementation of Phase I -III clinical trials that focus on prevention of mother to child HIV transmission, early treatment of infants at high risk of HIV acquisition and optimised treatment options for HIV infected mothers and infants. Tsungai has developed innovative adherence strategies to support optimal adherence in HIV paediatric treatment. She has strong quantitative research experience including competency in research writing with first authorship in several abstracts and posters.
Tsungai holds Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours Degree, a Master’s Degree in Public Health and Postgraduate Diploma in Health Economics with vast experience in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and medicines supply management. She is keen to contribute towards sustainable and equitable access of acceptable reproductive and sexual health medical technologies that promote maternal health in low-income communities.
