Miss Claire du Toit, MSc
Research Assistant
Claire du Toit professionally resides in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is currently working as a project manager representing the Aurum institute for MATRIX’s Capacity, Strengthening and Engagement (CaSE) Fellowship Program, where she assists in uplifting and enhancing capabilities and expertise of African research leaders in the field of HIV prevention for Women. After completing her undergraduate degree in medical science, she took a keen interest in physical anthropology, specifically forensic anthropology. Claire was given the opportunity to complete a BSc (Med Sci) Honours at the University of Cape Town, where her research focus was on Biological Anthropology and Forensic Taphonomy. She graduated with a Master of Science in Medicine (Anatomical Science) with a focus on Forensic Taphonomy and post-mortem interval. Eager to use these much-valued research skills, she attained a Research Assistant position at The Aurum Institute, a public health care organisation where she is streamlining the academic publication catalogues and administrating the data sharing committee along with the participation in qualitative analysis and scientific writing and publication of research for the Institute.
